I have no menu bar in Viewer & Aligner

I start Viewer & Aligner from 'Utilities | Viewer & Aligner'. Then I
see the window but there's no menu bar. What should I do?
The "reading in a plain text" chapter in help begins: "In Viewer and
Aligner, choose 'File | Open' and [...]" It's very frustrating :S
I would appreciate some help.

We're having the exact same problem.
