Katrina Recovery in Lousianna. Yes it is still going on. Thursday,
Oct. 16th we will have a guest speaker from Covington, LA. Sara
Casetta is a Lansing native you went to the Gulf Coast immediately
after Hurricane Katrine hit land. She will be with us next Thursday

As an update, we are still finishing up Maria's house. The schedule,
(subject to change), listing the remaining tasks is now on the
Volunteer Hub. Please sign-up if you plan to attend. I need to have a
handle on the numbers, because as we get closer to completion the
tasks are more finite.

program. There will be a luncheon in November for our friends and
supporters. Women Build is part of the affiliate and the program that

Last night the Beach Grill event was unbelievable. I don’t have a head
count but every seat was taken. The place was hopping! Maria and the
kids were dressed to the nines and as the Guest of Honor, they mingled
with the guests and really enjoyed the action. Amari, with her big
smile and sparkling eyes was a natural on stage drawing the door prize

What a great day for our Women Build program, early last month Pam
Schafer working closely with Stefani Barnes from our offices and
Daniel Wiiki, the Affiliate Executive Director applied for MSHDA grant
funding.

Earlier today the letter of award was received. The amount has not

Biggby Coffee on Gratiot just south of I-696 has joined with Women
Build. Today, Saturday July 19th from 11am-2pm, Biggby Coffee will
donate $1 from every beverage sold during that time. You do not have
to be a coffee drinker, they have other things also. There will be a
magician, face painting and balloon animals for 50 cents each.

Women Build, “Angels in the Rafters” is hosting a live concert at the
Beach Grill on Thursday August 7, 2008 from 6:00PM-9:00PM. Featured
