Subject: WJHS News for June 18, 2009
Good Morning!                          Today is Day 5.
***************************************************************************
All 8th Graders have received their Moving Up day admission tickets.
Please secure these tickets in a safe place as Lost/forgotten tickets
will not be replaced. Students received a maximum of two tickets
due to limited seating and safety regulations. Children may NOT sit
upon an adult's lap.

The Ceremony will take place today, June 18, 2009.
There are two sessions:

Session 1 - Teams 8 Blue, Red, & Orange  4 to 5:15PM
Session 2 - Teams 8 Yellow & Green         6 to 7:15PM

Students for Session 1 should report to the cafeteria NO later
than 3:45PM.  Session 2 students should report NO later than
5:45PM.

Students attended an information session today on the
ceremony program, behavior expectations and suggested
forms of dress.

Parents are asked to sit on either the left or right sides of the
auditorium. The middle section is reserved for the students.

Town Hall has graciously granted permission for cars to park on
their property. Due to the recent heavy rains we suggest you park
there and not on the grass.

On Monday during 9th Period students received a letter from
Mr. Powell, Superintendent of Schools with an update on the status
of the H1N1 influenza concerning the Wappingers Central School
District. Please ask your child for the letter if they forget to give
it to you. A copy of the letter is available under the File section
of
Google Groups.

Tomorrow, June 19h is 7th Grade Locker Clean Out. All 7th
Graders are reminded to bring in some type of backpack to
school to take your "stuff" home in. You will not be able to use
your lockers once they are cleaned out. Trash bins will be in the
halls to dispose of any unwanted items.

Permission slips for the Flag Workshop are due today. Please
bring them to Miss McCusker no later than Friday, June 19th
or you will not be able to participate.

Yearbooks were handed out to those who pre-ordered on June 11th
during homeroom. All students are strongly encouraged to
write their names in their books in case they become lost. Extra
copies are still available to purchase for $25 CASH ONLY on a
First Come, First Serve bases in room 102. Books will not be
saved for anyone who forgots their money or brought in a check.

All library books were due June 5th. Overdue notices have gone out,
and bills will be sent home. Don't delay, return them today!

Band Students are reminded to pick up any instruments left in the
Main Office today at dismissal.

Baseball players are asked to hand in their cleaned uniforms to
Mr. Ficker as soon as possible.

                8th GRADE FIELD TRIP TO SIX FLAGS:
The 8th Grade trip will take place on Thursday, June 25th from
6:30 AM-7:30 PM. Parents are responsible for getting their child
to school and picking them up at the end of the trip.

The buses are filled. Students who submit permission slips will
be put on a waiting list. If a student cancels for any reason you
will be notified that you will be able to go.

Please remember, Students with ISR during the last quarter are NOT
eligible for the trip.

Any football player who is interested in attending camp this summer
can pick up a brochure in the Main Office.

Summer date for Sports Physical is scheduled for Thursday,
August 20, 2009 in the WJHS Health Office from 8Am till 12 Noon.
