Subject: any recommedations for getting external mini sas cables this weekend
Anyone know where I can buy some mini external sas cables this weekend
locally

These HP part numbers are what I am specifically looking for, wth the last
one being prefered

HP Mini SAS Straight to Left 33in Cable Assembly 662899-B21
HP Mini SAS Straight to Straight 37in Cable Assembly 662897-B21
HP Double Mini SAS Y 36in Cable Assembly 662901-B21

but generic cables are fine too.

Your subject says external, but all of these are internal cables.

I've got NCIX ordering some external cables for me but they won't arrive
until tuesday and they are only 1.5-2ft long :-(

Definitely looking for external cables....

it's an HPAE459A 1U enclosure rack mount case holding an Ultrium LTO-3 and an
LTO-4 drive.

The unit has what looks to be the female receptacles (2 side by side) to
match the SFF-8088 as pictured here

Yup, you definitely want SFF-8088 mini-SAS cables, and not SFF-8087.

NCIX does show warehouse stock for 1m & 2m long SFF-8088 cables, so they
should be able to get it for you quite quickly,

I have some spare 8087 on hand, but no 8088.

Just checked the receipt from NCIX, they ordered 8087 cables :-( Waiting for a call back to get that switched to 8088, but I see the price goes up substantially....

from about $15/cable to between $70 and $130

http://www.ncix.com/search/?categoryid=0&q=SFF-8088+mini-SAS

Ebay looks like a better option price wise.

Linhaw has squat, will check CDW and Synnex next.
