1. Ms. Lindahl and Mr. Glauda's After Hours Club will be open today
at dismissal.

2. Thanks to a longe goal by an outside midfielder, the boys soccer
team tied their third match of the season in another double overtime
game. Today's game is at Wappingers Junior High. ALL athletes MUST
be picked up at Wappingers Junior High... there will NOT be a return
bus to Van Wyck.

3. Our newly designed website will be going into production very soon
and we would love your comments... both positive and negative! (We'd
especially like to know if you find any problems or bugs so we can fix

4. The Webmaster Club will be meeting today. Please meet in the
cafeteria at dismissal time. If you missed last week's meeting contact
Mrs. Baker to be put on the waiting list: vanwy...@gmail.com.

5. Reminder to girls volleyball team: Practice today ends at 4:30 to
go to the John Jay game.

6. The first school store meeting will take place today. Only those
students that have turned in permission slips will be able to attend.
We will meet in the cafeteria at dismissal.

7. Remember, no school tomorrow.

8. SGA is having its first dance of the year, Trick or Treat Party
Heat, on Friday, October 24th.
The 6th grade dance is from 4:30-6:00, and the 7th & 8th grade dance
is from 7:00-9:00. We are selling tickets for our dance during ALL
lunch periods on the following dates and tickets are $5; Tuesday,
October 14th- Friday, October 17th. We are looking for parent
volunteers to help sell tickets during lunch periods.

10. There will be an informational meeting for all those who are
interested in being a part of the John Jay Gymnastics team on October
14th at 6PM. We will meet outside the John Jay Gymnasium. Please
bring a parent with you.

11. There will be a girls basketball open gym for any girl interested
in playing JV and Varsity basketball at John Jay Monday and Wednesday
nights from 6 to 7:30. Any questions please see Mr. Brooks.

12. Attention All 8th Grade Students

If you would like to submit a baby picture for the 2008-2009 Van Wyck
Junior High School Yearbook, now is the time. You may drop off your
Baby Picture in Room 219, in the 8th Grade Baby Pictures Box. The
picture should be no smaller than wallet size and no larger than
4x6. Photos not within this size cannot be accepted.

Please PRINT your NAME and HOMEROOM NUMBER on the back. Photos will be
sent directly to the Yearbook Company and will not be returned to you.
Deadline to submit your photo is October20th. There will not be any
exceptions!
