In light of Gov. B's proposed Department of Human Services (DHS)
budget cuts, we here at Rape Crisis Services (RCS) would like to
extend an invitation to all of you to participate in a protest of the
proposed budget. With the current proposals the Governor has brought
forth, many Human Services would be affected state wide. RCS would be
in grave danger of having to close the doors, as would many other rape
crisis organizations statewide. We will be extending an invitation to
other agencies in the community, as DHS cuts would affect everything
from Community Action Agencies to Veteran's Affairs. The protest will
be at noon at the Champaign County Courthouse on July 3, 2008. If at
all possible, we would like as many people to be there as possible.
Please pass this information to others in our community who you may
know that these proposed cuts will affect their budgets. Please
