Subject: Intel video on Mini 9
Hi people

I've been searching for the solution for this problem but have not
gotten anything yet. Maybe any of you could give me a hand. I'm trying
to activiate the effects/compiz-fusion on my Dell Mini 9 but I see
there are not drivers for this. I've checked on the intel linux
driver's web site but they are not compatible with mine.

Here's the specicacions of my environment:
SO: Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop (not remix)
Graphics:
            *-display UNCLAIMED
             description: VGA compatible controller
product: System Controller Hub (SCH Poulsbo) Graphics
Controller
             vendor: Intel Corporation
             physical id: 2
             bus info: pci@0000:00:02.0
             version: 07
             width: 32 bits
             clock: 33MHz
             capabilities: bus_master cap_list
             configuration: latency=0

Any idea how I can fix this?

thanks

Graphics have worked OTB for me with 9.10, I don't think it's a driver
issue.

Drivers are set on default the only one u should be able to set is
boardcom wireless driver. And compiz should be installed on default as
well. Check system>apperence>visual effects and click on the extra
visual effects tab.

Peace

Poulsbo = GMA500 = sucks to be you

Poulsbo means you ARE NOT using a Mini-9, as you reported above. You
have a Mini-10. Not the recommended Mini-10v, but the not-recommended-
to-your-worst-enemy stock non-v Mini-10.

You're screwed. I cannot offer even false hope for you.

You might visit the Mini-10v forum over on www.mydellmini.com
http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell-mini-10v-discussion/

It may be possible to get Karmic to work using the Jaunty backports.

While looking at your spec, what command did you run to get that
info?  (what does lspci show?)

The only systems one would see Poulsbo as the video driver is on a
Mini 10/12.  The Mini 9 and 10v both use the 945 chipset.

Something isn't syncing up here...

HI Sorry for delay

I was wrong, I do have the Mini 10, and it seems that there are not officla
packages yet for Karmic, but I found this:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupportComponentsVideoCardsPoulsbo

And also, I believe the Ubuntu Dell 9.04 version has all these fixed too,

thanks
