The movie "Ecuador: Rainforest vs. Globalization" is a documentary that profiles Rafael Correa, who was elected Ecuador's president in 2006 and transformed the country into a participatory democracy. I've only watched a small amount, but am looking forward to viewing the rest! It's in Spanish with subtitles which I find helpful to training my ear as I try to learn Spanish. I figured out to change the format on my TV so, though we won't have the wonderful luxury that Jerry's place afforded, hopefully it will suffice.
Please post your RSVP along with the dish (for 8) that you'll bring to share.
I'll be out of town for the next scheduled meeting (August 25th) - unless someone steps up with a location and someone offers to cover the topic, we'll cancel it. August seems to be a big vacation month, but as you know, we need folks to volunteer to present as well as to offer space.
Hope to see you Sunday!
