Job Title: Recording Studio Technician
Location: Youth Services/Youth Opportunity
Salary Range: Up to $22.30 per hour
Status: Part-time temporary without benefits

Position Overview:
Work involves working with youth in a recording studio. The Sound-Recording Technician operates and maintains special effects equipment and sound recording equipment in a recording studio.
Essential Functions:
- Have manual dexterity and an aptitude for working with electrical, electronic and mechanical systems and equipment.
- Regulate signal strength, clarity and range of sounds.
- Operate control panels to select the materials source.
- Work with participants on special music projects.
- Plan and teach an instructional program in a specialized field of sound/recording.
- Maintain order among program participants.
Key Attributes:
- Ability to test, repair, set up and operate the electronic equipment used to record and transmit.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, co-workers and representatives of other organizations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to counsel customers to affect positive outcomes and meet program measurable goals.
- Ability to motivate youth and relate to their needs and interests
- Ability to work as a member of a team to assure project completion.
Required Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three years of experience performing work-related to broadcasting or recording.
- Or, any acceptable combination of relevant education and experience.
Special Requirements:
- Current certification in the field of recording, broadcasting or audio from an accredited program, school or university. Certification may include but is not limited to Sheffield Institute, Society of Broadcast Engineers, etc.
- Criminal Background Investigation.
