BTW, I don't suggest making a practice of following fingering as
indicated in the primers as an end in itself for the sake of
authenticity. Following the fingering indications will really help you
assimilate the style. When I first started playing from the primers, I
sometimes would try to apply regular clawhammer technique. Only when I
decided to really follow the fingerings as written, did the material
really play well.
