So I've heard from various parties including the Osmosoft team and Eric that they were able to get a TiddlyWiki to save on an XO. Would someone be so kind as to explain how?
I've got a TiddlyWiki loaded on a usb stick. Accessed the usb stick via Journal, opened up the TiddlyWiki in Browse. However, pressing save changes does nothing.

Option B: different window manager I was quite disappointed by the limitations of the Sugar interface, so I opted for a regular (lightweight) window manager, enabling me to use Firefox: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Xfce
I really appreciate all those options, but I am interested in trying to come up with a TW adaptation that works well on a vanilla XO. So if anyone has any pointers they would be greatly appreciated.

I had TW saving on the XO Jim Gettys brought around to BT Centre. That
didn't have the most recent hardware or software. I don't understand
why they'd remove that functionality.
The way we did it was to open the TW through the journal and then it
saved fine. You could post on the oplc wikis / forums perhaps?

mine didn't save either in the browse activity.
since i never saw the defualt yellow message indicator
at all, i figured the javascript functionality was limited.
however, i needed opera for tabbed browsing anyway,
so i downloaded that and tiddlywiki work.

i agree and think its important, i might try to get this
to work again if ever get my rma-- (their asking people
to send in their xo's since there is a hardware problem:
sticky keyboard keys, a bunch were affected including
mine =(
I've installed Firefox since and saving works as it should, though I would still really like to get it saving with the default Browse activity. I'll ask for help on the XO specific groups/messageboards when I get the chance, and report back if there is any progress made.

Mine as well. Unfortunately, the 30(!)-day warranty period is over, and shipping it back to the US from Europe would be a pain anyway. That's why I went for this workaround: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Sticky_Keys So I now have a dud on my XO's keyboard - but as long as no other keys are affected, I can live with that (though grudgingly).
