When I started exploring the wiki on a stick (potable USB drive) I
encountered two
flavors of implementation. They are PortableApps and U3.
Both of them offered a MedicAlert application. I took a look and, to
me, it seemed to
be nothing but an advertisement. I stopped it before I found how to
enter data into the
program. My reason was, if this was an emergency, the doctor should
not have to wait.
So I made a separate TiddlyWiki as my MedicAlert.

In case this seems like something you would like to do, I have
included in this posting
the tiddler names and the table definition line for each of the data
tiddlers.
It should give you a veru good start.

I also included content for DefaultTiddlers, Site Title and Site
Subtitle.

Since the content of my page is ...personal I didn't want to post it.
No doubt, someone will improve upon this. When you do, please let me
know.

Hope this helps,
IanO

Interesting idea!
I wonder, though, whether doctors will actually think of checking your
USB stick for medical records when you're in a critical situation. (That
would make for a pretty sinister way to plant a trojan... )

It does lead to the idea of having a jumpdrive marked Medical History
in your pocket or on a
bracelet.
Something tells me that there is a couple of companies wanting to work
on the idea... Infomercials soon to be on a TV near you.

At the same time a txt file might seem the safest and most universal
format.

I like this idea. I'll bet there's a way to launch the info at startup
(when the stick is plugged in).

Even if not used for emergencies, I'm thinking it's a good way for me
to store my parent's medical information. And if I ever get back to
trying my TW with my OLPC, I'll have it with me most of the time.

Also - I can't remember where I read about it (I'll look later) - but
there are people who use this general ID with their kids. Each of
their kids has a USB stick which they somehow carry around (I can't
remember exactly) - it autostarts to bring up the parent's contact
information and child's first name, and I believe emergency medical
info. Apparently it was actually used when one of their children was
lost in an amusement park (or zoo, or someplace like that - details
are fuzzy at the moment). The kids are instructed that if they got
lost, to find a safe adult (the usual - a policeman, someone dressed
like security) and give them the USB stick. The parent's also carry a
stick with the kids' information and pictures.
