I'm delighted to announce that we've just published revision 2.3.0 of
TiddlyWiki at the usual place:

http://www.tiddlywiki.com/

Mostly, we've concentrated on nailing a bunch of bugs. There's a full
list of changes at http://trac.tiddlywiki.org/wiki/History, and some
of the highlights include:

* Added sorting to tiddler filters (eg, you can do things like this in
DefaultTiddlers: "[tag[journal]] [sort[-modified]]")
* Added support for tiddler sections (similar to slices, but defined
by the headers within a tiddler and invoked with
TiddlerName##SectionName)
* Added basic support for theme switching
* Modified ImportTiddlers to remove the "choose workspace" step if not required
* Stripped some seldom used code into optional plugins (the crypto
functions, sparkline macro, and various deprecated functions)

Once again, this release is only possible because of the efforts of
many people in filing bugs, submitting patches, testing nightly builds
and all the myriad activities that are needed to keep a show like this
on the road. This time around, special thanks go to Martin Budden and
Saq Imtiaz.

If you've any comments or questions, please fire away here,

Cheers

Jeremy

Good job!

A quick observation:

It seems that these things have indeed been stripped, but not replaced
with any plugins. (I can't find any mention of the respective functions
in the code.)
Also, the styles for the sparkline macro are still present in
StyleSheetLayout and StyleSheetColors.

I'll take a more detailed look later.

looks like it is somewhere in the html coding?
I'm now getting macro errors in places like:
TiddlerGroupPlugin
TiddlyLockPlugin
IncludePlugin
FlickrBadge
FaviIcon

sometimes it is a simple as not liking <<br>>

Ive hacked the flickrbadge all over the place too

also getting regexpCarriageReturn is not defined for a <<view xxx>>
line

Might be because the deprecated functions are missing.

Fred,

there should be three plugins automatically included:

CryptoFunctionsPlugin
DeprecatedFunctionsPlugin
SparklinePlugin

note that they are marked excludeSearch, so won't be immediately
visible.

Click on Tags and then excludeSearch in the sidebar and you should be
able to see them.

I'm afraid not, Martin:
http://www.tiddlywiki.com/empty.html
I've made sure it's not a caching issue on my side, and I've even copied
the source into my editor because I didn't trust Firefox's source view.
I've also reviewed the respective changeset.
However, there's no trace of either of those plugins in that file; maybe
the recipe didn't include them?

Actually it seems a bit unclear now - which actually is the official
location? Your's don't contain header slices at all, and mine again
more than the version Jeremy used at http://www.tiddlywiki.com/ - So
now we have 3 ?

The official versions are as FND stated:
These don't contain the header slices as these are created
automatically as part of the build process for tiddlywiki.com and
empty.html

Jeremy has now released a new version of empty.html at tiddlywiki.com/
empty.html that now contains these plugins. (Note the plugins are
tagged excludeLists, so you need to click on Tags one the sidebar and
then excludeLists if you want to see these plugins.)

Would someone mind explaining this feature shortly?

This new syntax extends the familiar "space-separated list of
tiddlers" (as used in DefaultTiddlers and many other places).

"[tag[value]]" is automatically 'expanded' to a list of all tiddlers
that match the given tag value, while "[sort[+/-fieldname]]" sorts the
list of tiddlers by the specified field name, with a prefix of "+" or
"-" to indicate an ascending or descending sort order.

For example:
SomeTiddler [tag[sometag]] SomeOtherTiddler [sort[+title]]
is a list that includes SomeTiddler and SomeOtherTiddler, PLUS all
tiddlers tagged with "sometag"... all sorted alphabetically.

Another example... if you enter
ThisTiddler ThatTiddler MyTiddler YourTiddler [sort[-modified]]
as the content for [[DefaultTiddlers]], then your document will always
start with the same four specified tiddlers showing, but will display
the more recently changed tiddlers first.
