Sergio,
I purchased an 8GB iPod Touch back in December, and I am hooked. As a
LONG-time PalmOS PDA user, I have to say simply that this is what Palm
PDA's should have become. The iPT is compact, sleek, solid, and very
powerful. I remember how captivated I was when the Palm V came out. To
me, the iPT is the "Palm V of the 21st century".</soapbox>
I have since "Jailbroken" my iPT allowing me to add third-party
applications, and some of them are quite amazing. For example, my
favorite is the Wiki2Touch application that lets me store and view a
complete snapshot of all Wikipedia articles locally and offline. The
program is actually a small Web server app that serves up pages from a
local data file leveraging all of Safari's features. The article data
file is HUGE at a whopping 3.2GB in size, but the end result is that I
have access to every Wikipedia article at my fingertips anywhere
offline!
Anyway, the only thing that the iPT is really lacking is a decent way
to input, store, and manage text data. The Notes application is cute
and basic, but really needs to be beefed up to be productive. Having
something like a streamlined TiddlyWiki available would simply be
amazing!
I really can't wait to see how this progrsses.
