Hi all,

There is a question hovering in my mind : what is the link between local downloads and tiddlyspot accounts ?

Let me explain : due to tiddlyspot outage, I downloaded three of my tiddlyspot TWs this week-end for modifications.
And I did so many of them that finally, if we say I had TW 1, TW2, and TW3, most of TW1 is now in TW3 after some modifications and I'd like to transform TW3 into TW1 instead of having to now erase the content of TW1 and move everything from TW3 back in TW1..

Is it simply a matter of changing in TspotsetupPlugin or some similar tiddler, the id of my online tiddlyspot account ? Or much more complicated ? Also, would you do it ? And how will it interfere with what is online already ?

Thanks for your guidance.

-Nicolas.

Hi Nicolas,

I think what you're saying is that you want to put TW3 where TW1 was
at tiddlyspot.com.

When you upload to tiddlyspot (once we sort out the elusive
the-host-says-there-were-no-updates-but-something-definitely-has-changed
problem) your uploaded TiddlyWiki completely replaces the one on
tiddlyspot.com.

So as you guessed, all you have to do (for recent tiddlyspot sites, at
least) is update the line in your Tspot setup plugin that sets your
site id. Change it to the site id that you want this TiddlyWiki to
upload into, save and restart.

Remember to enter the password of the site you're saving to, and
upload. You'll replace the old TiddlyWiki at tiddlyspot.com with the
one you uploaded. Hope you had a backup of the old one!

Older sites don't have a Tspot setup plugin, and will require a bit of
fiddling of SidebarOptions and whatnot to change the site name in all
the places it occurs.

So stay tuned and we'll announce when we've got it all going again.

Cheers
;Daniel

Thanks to commenters on YouTube, we now know this is not true.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks a lot, this is what I secretly hoped...
I have indeed a copy of all TWs anyway, and when you guys are back online, I will simply swap the ids, and upload it all again ! That's great :)

Cheers,
-Nicolas
