Hey TiddlyWikers,

I'm following these directions:
http://end.com/~speth/HaloscanMacro.html

Okay, I installed the new tiddler HaloscanMacro and tagged it as
systemConfig.

Now I'm not sure what use the macro in a tiddler means. I copied the
sample ViewTemplate tiddler and this added two "||" to the name-date
line, but no joy! See http://softflotech.com/

I believe I have the Haloscan account set up correctly.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

On the line:

   config.macros.haloscan = {account: "daveboyd", baseURL: "http://www.haloscan.com/load/"};

you've replaced YourName with daveboyd, which is correct.  I I think your problem is on this later line:

   if (!account || (account == "daveboyd"))

in this case I think you aren't supposed to put your own name in -- it is testing to see if the account name has been set yet.  Change the daveboyd on that second line back to YourName and I think it will work.

P S I'm looking for a ruby based server tiddlywiki for my site, but ccTiddly looked easiest.  Do you have any alternate recommendations?

There's LesserWiki, and I vaguely remember that Tim Morgan from ziddywiki was working on a Ruby/Rails server too.

At tiddlyspot.com we use Ruby but the code we've written hardly ever touches the TiddlyWiki itself -- we're just using BidiX's UploadPlugin, and a lightly-modified version of his store.cgi.

http://tiddlywiki.bidix.info/#UploadPlugin

What do you want to do on your server?  Just save your TWs there?  If that's the case try UploadPlugin.  If you really need other stuff like, um, tiddler versioning etc, then I guess you'll need a "proper" server side.
