Hello All.

Firstly, a quick introduction. My name is Nick and I'm a new member of
the Osmosoft team. Hello!

My role in the team is to get TiddlyWiki out to small businesses and
entrepreneurs. Since I've started I've been working on a project with
fellow Osmosoftonian, Jon. This post is to give you a brief overview
of what we've been working on and to invite you to an open show & tell
session.

Our idea is to use TiddlyWiki to make it easier to create pages on the
web. Make it easier to create a blog. Easier to create a personal
website. Easier to make an e-commerce page. To be the location on the
net for the non-techie who wants to make a page. (We like to dream
big!)

The project combines all the coolness of Tiddlywiki on the editing
side and all the coolness of web pages on the presentation side (SEO &
size).

We've decided to start with blogs. Our goal is to make the easiest,
quickest & most customisable blog creator on the net. On top of this
more advanced users will have the freedom to customise their blogs
without restriction.

So far we've created a site which allows you to write posts, choose a
template and save the blog homepage. Next step is to work on the
editing page. We'd really welcome your comments, thoughts and/or
involvement in this project.

As part of this group you are invited to a livemeeting demo and Q&A
which will be held on March 31st at 5pm GMT. If you'd like to check it
out we're working on it at http://tiddlyhome.bidix.info/iwantablog/

We'll post the call details here closer to the time.

Blessings and Peace:

Nick, thanks for the invitation.

I've glanced at the URL, and clicked
on the JayFresh example.

Is part of what you've done, to merge
TW with Wordpress?  I see at the bottom
of the page, there is reference to WordPress.Com,
and there is a Comment feature (which I don't
know to fully exist- yet- in TW).

Hi Rafiki,

I'm sure Nick won't mind me jumping in.

We haven't merged with Wordpress, what's happening is that a HTML
template is being rendered into an IFrame, with tiddler content
spliced in wherever the template demands it.

This is an extension of the work done for TiddlyTemplating:

Details of the call on Monday 31st March at 5pm GMT:
UK Toll-free Dial-in: 0800 0121176 [Pass: 42315831#]
Screecast: http://www.placeware.com/rm/btconferencing_nameduser/attend?id=NWEBB608665&pw=224382
(Safari or IE only)

List of international & toll-free dial-in numbers:
http://jaybyjayfresh.com/2008/03/28/bt-global-meetme-international-dial-in-numbers/

On Monday coming, at 5pm, Jon and I have set-up a broadcast to talk
about I Want A Blog[1]. Everyone who's interested is invited. We will
be explaining what the project is, what's been done so far, the next
steps and asking for help, feedback and involvement. We plan to demo
for 10-15 minutes and then open up for Q&A for the remaining 15
minutes. We're using BT's conferencing services and it's free to dial
in (see above).

For those unfamiliar with I Want A Blog, the aim is to use TiddlyWiki
as a publishing tool for your (static) blog. It's based on the work
done with TiddlyTemplating[2], in that people can create templates
that other people can then use to layout their blogs. The goals are:
ease of use to non-technical people, creating an ecosystem around
templates and balancing the flexibility of self-hosted Wordpress with
the convenience of hosted Wordpress.

Hi I've been trying to work twitters into my learning schedule. I
followed the link http://tiddlyhome.bidix.info/iwantablog I'm a member
(so to speak) and I decided to put a 'badge' on my tiddlywiki. just so
I could find it myself. Your site says at http://twitter.com/badges/
(We have Flash and HTML widgets that work on nearly any social network
or web page.) The code generated is not directly TiddlyWiki friendly
as far as I can tell. Considering the connections one would think
so :-) I could be wrong of course.

Hi Morris,

Little confused by your post. I Want A Blog is intended to be a
prototype/demo of a blog creation tool. It uses TiddlyWiki to publish
static files.

From your post it looks like you're trying to put the twitter badge in
your TiddlyWiki. Is that the case?

Jon and I have recorded a screencast that we hope gives a good
overview of I Want A Blog. Please note that this is just a prototype
at the moment and we're looking to develop a number of features in the
coming weeks. Hope you like it!

Hi guys,

It seems that the end of the screencast is truncated.

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for the note! We've tried re-uploading and that hasn't fixed
it, so we've sent an email to their support and posted a note on the
video description.
