i remember seeing a conversation about this but i cant find it.  Can anyone tell me what the rule is for putting in hardwood floors in my unit?
i think there is a sound testing thing we have to do?  do i go through HOA to do that and how much does it cost?

Thanks

Jacqueline is correct. Only First floor units are allowed to install wood and tile floors. People who have installed have had to remove it. Don't waste your money on sound testing because it will not pass in these units.

I was told by Amy that Hardwood floors is allowed on the 1st floor. Most units that tried to put hardwood floors on the second and third floor usually do not pass the sound test then they have to pull up the hardwood floors and place the carpet back on.  Even though hardwood floors is allowed on the 1st floor, you still have to notify the HOA.

There are many people with wood floors and have gotten away with it. If you hear lotta noise go check out what material they have above you.

I have heard many units have installed hardwood and have become a nightmare for units below. I don't think hoa is really enforcing their own rules.
