Hey friends! Please pardon my informal posting in Brandon's journal,
but I want to let you all know about my new advice column for comic
book dorks and the like! :) A couple months ago the Comics Waiting
Room (
www.comicswaitingroom.com) offered me the opportunity to have an
advice column on the site, and thus "Jess Knows Best" was conceived.

Here's a quick bit from the official press release:
The Comics Waiting Room is proud to announce the addition of columnist
Jessica Blackshear to the site. Blackshear, who has worked as an
editor, production designer, and agent, and who is married to a comic
book writer (Brandon Jerwa), will be writing her column "JESS KNOWS
BEST" for the site, and using it to answer the burning questions in
every fanboy and fangirl's soul. If you have relationship issues, or
want to know how to get a relationship started, ask Jess! If you're
experiencing some troubles with a friend, ask Jess! When you need an
outside, impartial voice, ask Jess!
"JESS KNOWS BEST" will appear on Tuesdays on a bi-weekly to monthly
schedule, depending on the question load, and the column will be
archived at www.comicswaitingroom.com/jess.html so that anyone who has
missed an installment can easily catch up.
Comics Waiting Room owner and Editor-in-Chief Marc Mason had this to
say about the addition of Blackshear to the site: "I'm extremely
excited to bring Jess to the site. We first began discussing this idea
almost a year ago, and seeing it come to fruition is a dream come
true. Jess has a great variety of experiences in her life, and when it
comes to asking for advice... when it comes from a woman who's married
to a supergeek, you had better trust it! She knows what she's talking
about! I think she's going to be able to help a lot of people, and
that brings a smile to my face."
About Jessica Blackshear:Jessica Blackshear is a rock star, a business
ninja, and a decorated graduate from the School of Hard Knocks. "JESS
KNOWS BEST" will draw upon her experience as an agent, disc jockey,
web designer, production designer, editor, paralegal, singer and
secret government operative. She resides in Seattle with her husband
and son.
There you have it! If you've made it this far into my posting, why
not take another minute and send me a question? I just might respond
in my next column!
