Who is going to IDC? I heard there might be a special workshop at IDC
for Tangible Interaction for Children? Is that correct?

Yes!  Oren and I (along with Mitch Resnick and Yvonne Rogers) are going to
be running a Workshop on tangibles at IDC, this time specifically focused on
education.  Here's the info:

Academic Workshop: Tangible Interfaces for Education -- past, present, and
future (Half day - am)

This Workshop is part of an ongoing effort to form a new community of
designers, industry professionals, and researchers interested in tangible
interfaces for education. We will discuss different TUI frameworks and
present early and current projects in the field, including projects by
workshop participants. We hope to identify challenges for future research
and continue the discussion online.

IDC is in Boulder, June 8-10.  I believe that our Workshop is on June 8, but
I'm not 100% certain of that yet.

It would be great if we could get some discussion going on this list that
might help inform and shape exactly what we do in the IDC Workshop.

- Glenda

Hi.

I know that a lot of the people on this list have adminastrative ties to IDC. Does anyone know if the rumors are true about the conference being free for student volunteers?

Thanks,

Jenny
