Hey LSR,

Come join me…but you'll need to leave the bike at home just this one time! I'm planning to run a.k.a. trot at this year's annual Turkey Trot in downtown Dallas on Thanksgiving morning.  There is a 5k run/walk and 8 mile run this year.  Either route can be timed or just for fun.  The timed portion starts at 9 a.m. and the un-timed event starts at 9:15 a.m.  Dogs are welcome too!

It's a super fun time, lots of people and a great way to boost the metabolism before the turkey and fixings.  They also have awesome long sleeve t-shirts too!

Let me know if you plan to attend and maybe we can meet before, during or after this event.

Check it out…

I'm going to try to make it.  I may also bring my nephew with me.  I thought about bringing my dog too, but I kinda doubt she's ready for that much mayhem all in one place!! ;^)

Brenda, Nancy and I have been doing a 5k every Thanksgiving morning for the last several years. It is also called the Turkey Trot and is in Springfield, Mo.The first time we went there were 97 entrants last year there were over 5,000. We try to get family members involved as well, usually it is just grandchildren.I think Dallas may be a bit far for us to drive for a 5k.   Mike

Steve and other trotters!  :-)

Robin and I will be down at City Hall standing near the flags in front of the building around 8:00-8:15 a.m.  Parking is going to be tough so we're planning an early attack as will everyone else.  We hope to see you to either wish you a Happy Thanksgiving or trot with you.  I'll have my cell with me: 214.564.9243.

I know the local TV channels will be down there so if you wear some funky turkey costume it may be a sure bet of getting you on TV.  ;-)

Also, a note from the organizers:  Help the North TX Food Bank by bringing canned food to the Trot this year. The NTFB trailer will be on the East Side of City Hall on Ervay Street (just down from the starting line). We want to fill an 18 wheeler for those in need.
