LSR,

Well weekend one of the November three weekend hill festival out west has gone great.  There were a total of 14 riders who participated in one or more of the three events.  On Friday a few of us who didn’t have to work rode the Old Dennis 219K permanent, on Saturday a host of the usual suspects rode LSR’s hardest 400K epic journey and managed to survive, and on Sunday a few of us dodged the rain and rode the Poolville Perdition 214K permanent.

Below are the events planned for next weekend, the starting locations, and the unknowing victims who already signed up for more punishment.

Saturday November 21st at 7:00 a.m.

Willow Park 300K RUSA Brevet

Saturday November 21st at 7:00 a.m.

Willow Park 200K RUSA Brevet

Sunday November 22nd (reply for start time)

Poolville Perdition 214K Permanent recovery ride

The Willow Park Brevets start at the northwest corner of the Brookshire’s parking lot on the southeast corner of I-20 and Ranch House Road in Willow Park.

The Poolville Perdition 214K starts at the Wendy’s/Pilot Truck Stop on the southwest corner of I-20 and Old Dennis Road in Weatherford.

Below is the roster so far (there is plenty of room for more):

Saturday 300K Brevet – Me, Dan D., Brenda, Sharon, Vickie, Danny S., Pat J., Charlie J., John P., Mark M.,

Saturday 200K Brevet –Tom R. Tula R., Debbie B.,

Sunday 214K Permanent – Me, Mark M., Debbie B., Bruce R., Dan D, Pam, Sharon,

So come on out to the land west of I-820 and experience the good clean country living.  Climb a few hills, fight a little wind, meet some new dogs, and numb your butt with some of Texas’s finest chip seal.  It’s all good.

Please e-mail me back to get on the participant list for the Brevets and Permanents and the ride start times for the Permanents.  I will send out several reminder e-mails as November progresses.  Even if you are on the fence, please e-mail me so we have enough cards and cues.

Just a reminder: There are rides planned for all four days of Thanksgiving weekend so stay tuned.

See you out west!

Started the Poolville Perdition with Gary, but knew that his pace and
my pace were not going to match up. We rode together to the first
control and then I broke off the back, I had a good ride and got back
at 5:45, just soon enough not have to put on all the night gear. I
had my lights on for a bit and was hoping to get through all the final
little turns in Weatherford. This route has the fine roads overall
with some smooth as a baby's bottom and some that are as chunky as a
baby diaper. It was a good day as the wind were tolerable, the rain
held off and I no flats and no mechanicals. Gary was wearing orange
jersey today. I was trailing behind and could not figure why Gary was
standing off to the side of the road. Turned out it was a scare crow
wearing a orange Halloween shirt. Any ride that gives you an
opportunity to ride up Cherry Pie Hell should not be missed. Thanks
Gary for resurrecting this ride from the ride cemetery.
