Subject: Opportunity for Free Home Education College Course!
Hello,
My name is Kristin Barber and I work in
the Advanced Technology Center's distance learning office at Shawnee
State University in Southern Ohio (
http://www.didlet.org ). Our
University knows how difficult it can be for home school parents to
provide their
children with the computer skills they will need to be successful in
college and in their future careers. We have therefore decided to
offer a free online computer class to home schooled students in Ohio
who are 14 or older and the class is based on a course we
teach to freshman and post-secondary high school students.
The
course is called "ETEC1302
Computer Systems: Gateways to Cyberspace" and the class uses a series
of free eBooks called "The Professor and Pat" series. I will be
teaching this course and the books are available at the following
website:
http://professorandpat.org
These
books were written by Ted Kosan and he is one of our faculty members.
He is also a home school father and the books have been designed so
that they are easy to use by home school students.
If you are interested in this course, more information about it can be found on this website:
http://etec1302homeschool.info
No college credit can be given for the course since it is free, but
students will still receive useful knowledge and skills by taking it.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at
kbar...@gmail.com
Sincerely,
Kristin Barber
