On Friday, 11/3/06, I netted a male monarch on the
north end peninsula to the Lavaca Bay Causeway
to Port Lavaca. The monarch was nectaring on ham
& eggs Lantana and was intent on what it was doing.

Information provided by Chip Taylor, Monarch Watch,
University of Kansas, stated the monarch was tagged
by Duke Wheeler on 9/23/06 near Whitehouse, Ohio.

We can get these numbers from what we know: The
flight covered about 1,146 miles, as the crow flies,
in 40 days, or about 28.6 miles a day. The flight
would have been to the SW. Some wear, no tears,
good shape.
