I have been in close communication with Shark Savers and they have counted about 800 signatures so far?in support?of?the shark fin ban legislation. Thank you to those of you?who?signed the petition at TSSC meetings and during BTS, as well as those who took the time to go online and read more about what we are trying to accomplish (http://www.sharksavers.org).

Shark Savers' legislature contacts keep referring to 1000 signatures as the "magic number" to really kick the legislature into gear. If anyone living in Westchester County has not yet signed the document on the Shark Savers website, accessible at http://www.sharksavers.org/content/view/204/104/, please do so now! And please forward this message to as many conservation-minded people as possible, so we can reach and exceed the "magic number" of 1000 signatures!

There are also a number of public sessions scheduled, which will present an opportunity for anyone?from Westchester County interested in pushing this legislature through to appear and speak out. These sessions are?in?White Plains?on May 5 at 7 pm, May 19 at 10 AM, June 2 at 7 pm, June 16 at 10 AM, July 8 at 7 pm, Aug 11 at 7 pm.
