Reg:

I read the page in its entirety, I sent it get others to read. As the truth is often obscured in todays news.
More people should use a bit of "critical analysis" in reviewing the news. Each member of this list is educated and
more than qualified in making critical decisions. In the recent news it has come to the
attention of the news media that the Pentagon has been feeding the news to the media in a manner that obfuscates
the truth. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/20/washington/20generals.html?_r=2&...

During the Reagan administration this same technique was used in the "War on Drugs", the media would report a item
blame it on the use of drugs, usually marijuana or crack cocaine report something as truth. When the truth would come out
the original statements would be ignored.

I remember one well publicized news event, involving a train accident. When the
news media were informed of the train engineer tested positive on marijuana it began a wide reaching policy on mandatory drug
testing. When the truth came out finally it was found that the train engineer and a second train employee had been watching
a football game on a portable TV, thus missing the warning lights. Little public attention was given to the final outcome.
The War on Drugs had a new poster child on the evils of drug use, end of story.

Today drug testing is in common use for most employment.
