I had a friend from law school who thought the same thing. He and a
couple of fellow lawyers, etc., got together and incorporated a
shipping company. They purchased an old freighter and attempted to
import 20 tons of Columbian cacaine into Canada. Things did not go
well. The police were on to them before the ship even got close to
Canadian waters. One of the parties disappeared, one supposedly
committed suicide and my friend was put on trial. All of the evidence
was from wire-taps. The trial went on for over a year. Somehow,
somebody funded my friend's defence and sprung for Canada's leading
electronic surveillance defence lawyer. In the end he was convicted
and sentenced to 15-20 years. He died during his second year in prison
a relatively young man. And so it goes. It seems that for most normal
people, a life in the fast lane does not end well. I believe that most
successful professional criminals are hard-wired differently than most
folks. In that sense they are probably born and not made. As Voltaire
said, most people are better off tending to their own garden (faire
de jardinage (?)) as opposed to venturing into uncharted waters.

You have all pertinent information.

If you’re a kingpin you can more money than you can spend.

WHEN you get caught, you will watch it go away and you will spend the rest of your entire life wishing
that you had not done it.

For the 'rest of your life' will be spent in a 8 by 12 cell.

P.s.  Have you ever SEEN a Mexican or Columbian prison?

Thy aint real big on conveniences...
