Hello,

I think you can do that by adding a parameter to your operation with the
wheel type. Hopefully you will see my other post where I
have submitted a worked example of this in MagicDraw, and a write up also.
I would have liked, and still would like, to try this with Artisan also.
Unfortunately the free Uno edition is not really supported, so I couldn¹t

 Hi all
I am, for my night job, working on a dissertation aimed at creating a
Network Design Modelling Language (NDML). Some of you have seen my earlier
posts about instances, and no doubt enjoyed the related discussions :-)
I felt that it would be useful to anchor such discussions with an "real
world" example, so I have created one using MagicDraw and attached it, and a

Can you please elaborate Cris?

The assertion in this thread that "you cannot assign value to constraint
blocks because there is not instance semantics" is actually not correct.

In this case, SysML replaces the need for instances by the concept of

Actually, it's more ironic than odd. During the time when the two SysML submission teams were actively competing Instance syntax/semantics was a key design issue on which they seemed to agree at a high level. Indeed, the SysML Partners planned to incorporate Instance syntax/semantics in the next (beta) version of their specification.

Nathan, it seems to me that we are running into the same problem - in your
case with ports and in mine with composite parts. The question seems to be
if these aspects of a block are treated as part of the block (class)
definition and, therefore, are included when an instance is created. It
seems to me to be a significant flaw if this is not how it works.
