to SuperNotecard
Let me start off by saying what a wonderful product SuperNotecard is -
I use it for anything I can, and it's incredibly handy for college
papers, projects, and organizing all kinds of different information.
That said, I'm going a little crazy.
Last night while I was working on a paper, I attempted to save using
CTRL+S - it was a new project, but it didn't bring up the dialog box
with the directory structure as it usually would. I tried CTRL+S a
couple more times before giving up and going to File > Save - once
again, I got no response. The option in the menu remains highlighted
(even after the File menu retracts and you open it again, it is still
highlighted as though the mouse is hovering on it, even if it isn't),
but no dialog box. I tried File > Save As..., same thing.
I tried some other menu options, and they worked fine. Everything
under Edit, View, Tools and Help works, and the program is still
fairly functional. I can work on the project, open any option under
the other menus (and several under the File menu also), add decks and
cards, remove them, etc.
I tried Open Project, and it gave me an error box: "Error opening
project. Details: null", though Open Recent works perfectly fine. I
would attribute it to some error in opening the directory structure
dialog, but things under the Import option open the dialog just fine.
So far I've narrowed down the non-functioning things to CTRL+S, CTRL
+O, Open Project, Save Project, Save Project As, Save Backup and
everything under Export. In addition, attempting to save on the dialog
that pops up as you're exiting the program does not work either, nor
does attempting to open a project through the greeting screen that
offers New Project, Open Existing Project or Open Sample Project.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled SuperNotecard, I have uninstalled
and reinstalled Java, (which is at 1.6.0_03) and still run into the
same problems. I am using Windows Vista, but I had been using the
program for awhile on this system with no issues until just last
night. I unfortunately can offer no idea as to how to reproduce the
issue - there were no updates made to my system through Windows at the
time, nor any Java updates that I was aware of.
My desktop PC is running Java 1.6 also and has no issues and works
fine, but my laptop is what I carry back and forth to school. Any tips
or help that can be offered at all would be greatly appreciated.
