Odd cursor glitch

I've noticed that while editing Characteristics for a Factor, the
cursor goes all wonky. After about half the first line, it starts
appearing on top of or before the letter I've just typed instead of
after it, which is making editing the text a headache. Is this just a
bug, or might the program have an issue with the font I'm using?

We've posted an initial version of a web application that allows
SuperNotecard for Scriptwriting users to create decks and cards online
using any
browser, including Safari on the iPhone. These online decks can be
easily downloaded and imported into SNCfS projects on your
computer.

I'm happy that the spelling suggestions now includes the first
character.
But also in this new beta a small problem - I had in the 1.6.22
version - is still present:

something I am doing wrong. When I highlight a word to add it to the
dictionary, the resulting word in the Preferences Menu will always be
missing its first letter. Since I cannot edit those words, the only
way I can add a word to the dictionary is to type it manually.
