Cal Aggie Cyclist looking for road rides during Thanksgiving break
My name is Nick Luker, and I am a member of the UC Davis Cycling team. I will be spending the Thanksgiving weekend in Palo Alto and would like to go on any road rides; all I have ever heard of riding is the Dish. I plan on joining the Saturday Team Ride. If someone could tell me the best way from old Palo Alto to the PO, I would appreciate it. I... more »

1:45pm Tuesday ride
To continue the Thanksgiving week postings. I will be riding from the post office at 1:45pm Tuesday, leaving when the bell rings at 2pm. The plan is to stay on smaller grade hills than today, with a steady pace. Up Jefferson, then through the Valley, with the option to add Alpine on the way back.... more »

Montebello Monday - wow, that actually sounds cool...M&M...
Aloha team, (no, I'm not from Hawaii...I'm just in the mood of visiting Hawaii right now :p ) Seems that tomorrow is a good day to ride bike, with some sun predicted. Also, it's the last day I'd get to ride before heading down to LA for a few days, and it's been a while since we journeyed up this... more »

Need a place to stay in LA?
Hey team, I booked a room at the Super 8 Motel in LA for Monday to Thursday during break but I won't be able to head down there anymore since I fractured my collarbone. I paid $60 a night for it, I'll take the best offer I get if you want it. It has 2 queen beds so has enough room for at least 4. Have a... more »

Facepalm
I definitely just found out how to break a shimano 105 front shifter. Would anyone have an emergency spare triple shifter (or a cheap front shifter of any kind) that they wouldn't mind parting with? The future looks pretty bleak without a big ring. I don't know if I can go on. Jason

air hose, etc by Meyer
Hey guys, If you haven't run across this yet...I noticed while I was making my way to class this morning that some awesome person has installed a little bike maintenance station near Meyer library (walk toward Escondido from Meyer and you'd see it). There's an air hose - like the one at the campus bike shop - with a bunch of tools - wrenches, etc -... more »

Rides this weekend, next week, and next weekend
All rides meet at the campus post office. Saturday: Meet at 9, roll at 9:15. Likely Pescadero or similar. If the ride is cancelled, it'll be posted on the group. If there is a route you'd like to try, Saturday is a good day to try it. The Big Game is at 4:30 on Saturday. Sunday: Meet at 9:30 for bagels and coffee w/Cal, roll at 10 a.m. Three route options: short is Crystal Springs, medium is Half Moon Bay, long is Pacifica-Montara-Mavericks-Pur issima via San Pedro Mountain. If the weather has really shellacked the off-road bits, we'll change as necessary.... more »
