HOMELESS BAGGED MEAL VOLUNTEERING A SUCCESS!
Thanks to all the Young Adults who came out to help prepare and distribute bagged meals to the homeless last week. We had a great turnout Thursday and Friday night - about 20 volunteers came to make the meals and seven people volunteered to distribute meals. We served about 63 individuals and handed out the remaining seven meals as seconds. The Young Adult group participates in this program about once a quarter. Look for details about the next volunteer opportunity in January.

Werthmann Gym, St. Charles
We are in need of a few volunteers to tend our bar for wine, beer and soft drink sales. We usually schedule 2 people at a time for a period of an hour or hour and a half. In that way it is not a burden for anyone and you can still enjoy the event. The bar is a great place to meet our community, too! We would begin scheduling from 6:30PM that evening. Thank you for your consideration in participating in this way. Please contact Laura Fitch fitc...@comcast.net.

GIVING TREE
If you (or a family you know) are in need and could use help with Christmas gifts for your children, come to registration for the St. Charles Giving Tree on Sundays from 2:00 – 4:00 pm Oct. 18, 25 and Nov. 1 in Room 103. Please bring some form of ID and some proof of family income. Gift requests for each child (clothing sizes, toys, etc.) will be taken. You must register to receive gifts from the Giving Tree.
CENTENNIAL CLOSING MASS
Saturday, November 7th
5:00pm
With Bishop Loverde, followed by a reception and sit-down dinner. The Liturgy Ministry would like to involve volunteers in planning for this Mass. You do not have to be active in liturgy ministry to contribute to this preparation – just willing to learn about the Mass. Parts of the liturgy you might contribute to are: ideas for general intercessions (prayers); procession for the presentation of gifts; ideas and help with church décor; video recording and post-production videography; greeting, welcoming and seating parishioners and special guests at this Mass. If you are interested and willing to learn, please contact Mike Doyle at mdoy...@verizon.net or call 703-528-2743.
*Gifts at these levels will help make the centennial dinner more accessible to our diverse community.
Second Century Benefactors and Centennial Patrons will receive recognition in the centennial dinner program.
We are also seeking businesses and individuals willing to underwrite specific dinner costs, such as flowers, music, etc.
Contact the centennial committee at c...@stcharleschurch.org if you are interested in underwriting opportunities.
The fair market value of the centennial dinner is $50 per person. Dinner Catered By Avalon Caterers.
All proceeds, after costs, will be donated to the St. Charles Centennial Capital Campaign.
