--If you have any symptoms of the flu or a severe cold, you are not obliged to attend Mass.

--Please do not attend Mass if you have flu-like symptoms or a severe cold or until you are without a fever for 24 hours (without fever-reducing medicine).

--Missing Mass if you are ill and unable to attend is never a sin.

--If you are ill, you can still pray with the community.  The Mass for Shut-ins airs each Sunday on WDCW-50 (“The CW”) from 10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.  More information is available at www.arlingtondiocese.org  The weekly Sunday readings are online at www.usccb.org/nab and columns from Bishop Loverde, including homilies are available at http://catholicherald.com/bishop

--As Catholics we believe that the fullness of the presence of Christ is present in the Body of Christ (consecrated bread) and the Blood of Christ (consecrated wine).  It is acceptable, especially during this flu season, to not receive from the cup if you wish.

--Those who receive communion on the tongue are encouraged to receive in the hand during this flu season.

--Please contact your Pastor if you have any questions.
