This just started happening today. I'm hoping it's some cruel April
Fool's joke, or maybe something to do with the new offline mode (which
I don't have yet).
Every time I try to open a (new or existing) document / spreadsheet /
or presentation, It logs me out of all Google properties, and sends me
to a page to login. (My Gmail which is in another tab even gets logged
out)
I have tested this with another account I have, and a friend's
account, both of them work correctly, and do not experience this
error.
I am not sure why this is happening but I did try to upload an .xls
this morning and that was the first sign of problems, but that was
also the first thing I did in Docs.
And to add to it, if I use a direct link to a document I can do
whatever in the document, and even go to File > New and open a new one
and that works, I just can't do anything from the main page of Google
Docs.
Please let me know if anyone else is seeing this problem.
I use Docs way to often to not be able to get into it.
I know there is a paper airplane prank today for April Fool's, but I
haven't seen that and I'm thinking it's connected.

normaly using firefox but:
i tried a bit: is works with internetexplorer 64bit version (not with
32bit version(!)...oO)
maybe a plugin problem or simply browser problem

I typically use Firefox, but I tried it in IE as well.
It wasn't working in either.
I don't have a 64 bit version at my disposal to try, but both browsers
did not work in 32 bit.

Thanks for posting about this issue. I'm going to contact you via
email to see if we can find out more about what is going on here.
Thanks for your help in looking into this issue.
I am now at home, and I just tried it, and everything seems to be
working again.
We will have to see tomorrow morning if it works again at work (where
I need it most)

I'm having the same issue...
was having this issue with just Spread Sheets yesterday, late
afternoon, early evening it came back... now its happening again with
docs and spread sheets.

I got a "Trying to reach google.com..." (with a red background) error
on the first spreadsheet I tried to open (but I could still see the
data).
It was working fine, I opened about 3 or 4 spreadsheets, and 2
documents with no problems, and then refreshed to try again, and now
it is logging me out.
It seems like it is only doing it on spreadsheets now. I can
definitely open any word document just fine, but if I try to open a
spreadsheet it logs me out. (I currently don't have any presentations
to test)
And like I said last night, It seemed to be working at home, but I
didn't do as extensive as a test, I probably just opened one or two
files.
--
Also, I don't know if this is related or not, but when I load Docs in
Firefox it kind of bugs out a little bit, then fixes it self. The
bottom half of the list of files kinda shifts to the right. I'm
assuming its an extension or script because it doesn't do that in IE.
Although it does seem like IE loads twice, but just stays white until
the second time.
(Just in case anyone else is seeing this bug and they are related)
@Chandler I will be more than willing to help if you still want to
contact me.

I have the same issue when trying to load any of my spreadsheets
(including trying to open a new spreadsheet from the main docs page).
I can load my documents and presentations just fine, but any attempt
to access my spreadsheets logs me out of google. I'm using FF2 and
tried clearing my cache with no improvement.

Just did the same and everything is going swimingly now... looks like
the offline access update is screwing some stuff up before its even
been rolled out.

Thanks for keeping us updated on this issue. We've made some changes
on our end that may have resolved this. Can you let me know if you're
still getting logged out of Google Docs? If so, is anyone experiencing
this when opening documents or presentations, or just when opening
spreadsheets?
Thanks again for your help in investigating this issue.

Thanks for the update. Can you try to clear your cache and cookies?
This should fix the problem. If it doesn't, let me know and we'll keep
working on this one.
When cache and cookies are deleted it works for the first spreadsheet
I Open. After that the same problem.
Only with spreadsheets, documents and presentations seems to work.
Sometimes at first times after cleaning there also occours an error
like "trying to reach google"

Thanks for keeping us updated on this issue. We're still looking into
this. We'll update you as soon as it's been resolved. In the meantime,
manually refreshing the Docs list has fixed this problem for some
people.
Thanks again for your help and patience as we investigate this issue.
