Consider a web URL like the following (It is a real website, go ahead and click it if you wish) -- After "snipping" the same above URL looks like this --
Note that these six URLs are small so you can send them in emails without the fear of them wrapping, meaningful so you can remember and share them in the future, and permanent so if your underlying URL expires or changes you can always modify your snipped URL. (As a bonus, you can even see the popularity of you URLs by viewing how many people clicked on it).
SnURL, Snipr and SnipURL are the exact same domain. You can use any one of them. Whichever you choose, please login from that website and drag the shortcut from the front page of that domain. This is required to remember you as a user in your browser so we can auto-associate your future snips with your user ID.
Just use the shortcut!
Snipping is easy. You can set up a shortcut (bookmarklet) on your browser and you're ready to go.
You can automate the window to popup, copy the snipped URL into your clipboard, and then auto-close in a second or two.
Here's what the shortcut looks like:
Personalize your Snipping
Once you have snipped, you can add a memorable "nickname" to the snipping. Instead of http://snipurl.com/[some_random_code] you can have http://snipurl.com/your_nickname.
