I'm happy to announce that the Copy to Clipboard functionality that
the recent Adobe Flash 10 update had broken [ http://snipr.com/flash10
] has now been resolved.
We now encourage you to upgrade to Flash 10 as it is more secure. The
"Copy" buttons around the site should now work.
Please note that because of Flash's restrictions, the automatic
copying to clipboard when the snipping appears is not easily possible
as the new security requirement is that the user should himself click
for something to happen (as spammers were maliciously simulating
clicks before).
This is why the "Copy" buttons will work, but the auto-copying may not.
However, for Firefox and IE users, our workaround from before should
still work [ http://snipr.com/flash10 ]. If you use one of these
browsers, then my suggestion is to leave that setting on (i.e.,
Snipurl among trusted parties) for the automatic bit.
Basically, you need to do nothing. It works :)
The new functionality has been tested on Windows XP/Vista, Mac OSX
Leopard, and SuSE Linux. The browsers we tested include IE 6, IE7, IE8
beta, Opera 9.5+, Firefox 3+, and latest Safari, Camino, and Chrome.
Let me know if it doesn't for you. Please offer some information about
your OS and browser.
Happy snipping,
Shashank
