Just thought I'd keep everyone updated on the care package status.  I received the first donation today.  Two Smokering dry rubs and two sauce jars.  THANK YOU!  I emailed Jay and he said they are eager with anticipation because he knows what awesome folks the BBQ family has and that "y'all know how to make strangers feel like family."  This is a really good thing y'all are helping my wife and I with, and I truly/tearfully am grateful!

BBQr's Delight goes in with a bunch of other BBQ manufacturers to send stuff to military folks stationed all over the world.  The MWR guy that works with us told me that one of the things that gets asked for most often is condums to use as covers over weapons to keep sand out.  Makes sense.  Bill presented me with a US flag that had flown over Iraq folded up in a case made from wood from the USS Iowa.  It is displayed proudly.

I've heard of that use for condoms, but I can't imagine that the
military would not provide them by the hundreds of thousands, in
barrels, for that use. Are you saying that "we" have to buy them by the
dozen and ship them over, as opposed to the manufacturers just giving
away their seconds and expired lots??!!

If so, then someone in military procurement needs to be cashiered.

Kevin,

Knowing the way our government usually works, I am surprised that they have
not written a specification for a "Cover - Latex Gun Muzzle" and given a
contract to a military contractor to have them custom made at $20 ea. (or
more)
