Hi Jean, Mike,

Jean, your suggestion about construction circles is great, and I
especially appreciate the idea of using the closest three points of a
rough circle as the basis for an arc of much finer precision.  I found
that constructions using "circles" with 1000 sides could really make
SU run slow.  It could take a couple of seconds just to delete one of
those.  Being able to get the same precision with a
fraction of the parts is a really good idea.

For a different direction on the original question, take a look at the
free Driving Dimensions plugin.  The free version allows you to have
25 driven dimensions at one time, the paid version removes that
limit.  http://www.DrivingDimensions.com

When I first encountered this plugin, I completely misunderstood what
it does.  The simplicity of the user interface hides some pretty
complex mathematics under the hood.

I hope this helps,
August
