Spin the Globe: Live Locally, Groove Globally
Fridays 10-noon (Pacific) on KAOS 89.3 FM Olympia, and streaming live

==================================================

Next week is one of my favorite festivals of the year, under the new moniker Giant Magnet Festival. Formerly known as the Seattle International Children's Festival, it brings together fluid masses of kids and great global musicians, jugglers, dancers, and entertainers. Many of the shows are during the daytime, to accommodate the busloads of young people; you can also catch evening shows May 12 and May 17. On this week's Spin The Globe, we'll talk with producing director Brian Faker about the festival, it's changes, and this year's highlights.

Also, if you're in the area, you've gotta check out the KAOS-fm CD & Record Sale on May 23. The station is moving to a temporary location during a remodel, so we're extra keen to shed some of our surplus music instead of toting it back and forth. The sale is Noon - 7pm in the CAB at The Evergreen State College. More info here.

COMING UP ON SPIN THE GLOBE:
May 8: Global Kids' Music
May 15: World Music Top 10
May 22: Bulgaria Meets Mongolia
May 29:
World Music of Peace

You know you can listen live online Fridays 10-noon*, right?)
