There is a worldwide fan following for the game of Table
Football(FOOSBALL). Tournaments are hosted both for women and men and
people practice year round for the grand prize.

The basic game strategy is given below. If you want more details and
desire to acheive greater expertise refer to the links on strategy and
gameplay in the following section.

BASIC GAME STRATEGY:
--------------------
DEFENSE:
--------
If your goal is under attack block the opponent with your own player so
he doesn't get a clear shot at the goal. Make sure all angles that
leave your goal open to attack are covered.
At all other points on the field also, blocking the ball so the
opponent doesn't get a clear shot is the best strategy for defense.

OFFENSE:
--------
Pass the ball from your backline to midfield and midfield to frontline
players to progress towards opponent's goal. Pass the ball through the
gaps in the opposition. NEVER hit the ball straight at the opponent. It
will bounce back towards your own goal.
A shot similar to the "snake" shot in Table Football can be used very
effectively by experienced players(Refer to the game strategy links
below for explanation of this shot). When blocked by an opponent pass
the ball quickly to an adjacent player, move behind the ball and hit it
between the gap in the opponent before he can move into place to block
your shot.
When the ball is near the sidelines a quick way to get out of the
situation is like one you would use in "rink football". Bounce the ball
off the side quickly to bypass the opponent.
Finally, when you are in position to score, wait for an angled opening
towards the goal before shooting. You will almost invariably never get
a clear shot right in front of the goal.

TIPS:
-----
1) Don't try to hit the ball too hard or you will miss-hit it at a
glancing angle. Hit it head on at the center, firmly, with the mouse
moving in a straight line rather than in a curved arc.
2) Don't swing at the ball wildly "hoping" to slam it into the
opponents goal. A thinking, tactical opponent will always be able to
defeat a wildly playing, random hitter of the ball.
