Staff Appreciation Week

Next week is Staff Appreciation Week. Many thanks to those who have offered to help their grade level with bringing in a food item for the staff lunch or who have donated. We have not gotten back much response. If you plan on helping your grade, please return the envelope with form indicating what you will bring so the coordinators can plan accordinagly.

Our main volunteer for the day of class pictures has had an illness in her family and won't be able to help. We only have one volunteer from 8-9a. We are desperately needing volunteers from 8a-1p on Wed.

If you can help even for a small amount of time, please let me know ASAP.

Last year parents helped out Helen, the Art Teacher at Ryan, with snacks and drinks for the evening of her art show. The art show this year is March 14th from 4-6pm. If you can help with donations of snacks, drinks, or plates, etc., please let me know.

Thought this might be something you could pass along through scouts or PTA. The Monarch Little League offers girls softball to all girls in Erie, Lafayette, Superior, and Louisville ages 7-18. It is a great program that Melissa participated in last year, but suffers from lack of advertisement. We looked for a couple of years before we found this so there may be lots of other girls out there that are interested in playing but haven't heard of this opportunity.

Just a quick request: BVSD is looking for a few parent representatives for the Digital Content Initiative Committee.
I have copied the information below. The first meeting is Tuesday, October 9th - 4:15 – 6:15. The committee will meet quarterly.

Spirit Items/Days

The PTA is in the process of doing an inventory of items left, re-ordering some items, and ordering some new items. Please look for information to come home soon with how to order.

Fridays are Spirit Days. Students, teachers, staff and visiting parents are asked to wear purple on Fridays. The class with the most particicpation gets to hang the Spirit Banner in their classroom for the following week. Support Ryan and show your spirit.

Welcome packets were sent home in your child's Friday folders. Inside it contains information about the PTA, our fundraisers for the year, volunteer forms. The packet also contains our first fundraiser - the Check Writing Campaign. Please consider donating to thePTA to help further your child's educational activities that the district does not support.

I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming positive response the board has received this year. We have had numerous parents calling, emailing and coming up to us wanting to know how to get involved, when meetings are, how much dues are, etc. It has been great to see.

Membership dues are $6.00 for the year, of which $5.75 is sent to the state. There are many benefits to joining PTA; please take a look at our website ([link]) under PTA Membership for more information. As always, you do not have to be a member to join our meetings and discussions.
