Thursday, June 18 – Film: “Sustainable Table”, 7:00pm at First
Unitarian Church, 220 S. Winton Rd. This film takes a clear look at
the food we eat, where it comes from and how it affects the
environment. Learn how your food choices radically help or hurt the
Earth and effective ways to practice responsible stewardship.

Saturday, June 20 – Call for volunteers! Completion of the
Scientific
Data Collection for the Washington Grove forest at Cobb’s Hill. Meet
at 8:00am at the Nunda Entrance to the Park. Join research student
Justin Rogers from SUNY Brockport as he completes a study of
the
forest at the Park. You will be trained to identify a variety of
trees and shrubs and help others collect data at random intervals
along a line transect. You will find this method of surveying a
forest interesting to watch and participate in. Contact Peter Debes,

Saturday, June 20 - Home Composting Information Day, 9:00-11:00am,
Cornell Cooperative Extension, 249 Highland Ave, Rochester. Learn how
to recycle yard and kitchen waste into useful soil amendments. Hosted
by the Master Gardners of Monroe County CCE. Please call 461-1000 to
reserve your spot. (Reservations recommended to help prepare for
handouts and refreshments.)
Tuesday, June 23 – Great Lakes Committee mtg, 7:00pm, Twelve Corners
Middle School Library, Brighton
Every Wednesday, June 17 - October 14, 4:00-7:00pm - Monroe Village
Farmers' Market, located in the parking lot of Blessed Sacrament
Church on Monroe Avenue between Rutgers and Oxford. Each week they
invite a community group to share information about their work or
issue. Table and tent provided, free of charge. This years' focus
