Reverse Space is happy to announce that we have received the kit to build a high resolution DLP (light) 3D printer called the B9Creator (http://www.b9creator.com/). We appear to be the first Makerspace in the United States to have this technology. Previously light based 3D printers has been only available for large corporations. This is one of the foremost successful examples for the ability of crowd-funding (www.kickstarter.com) to bring advance technology to the average person for a reasonable cost. This technology is at least twenty times cheaper than a comparable corporate DLP printer (http://printin3d.com/projet-7000).

The ultra high resolution allow the print of Lost Foam Casting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost-foam_casting) for the creation of jewelry and stunning designs for artists (http://www.shapeways.com/designer/Bathsheba).

This week at Reverse Space we will be unboxing the kit and inventorying the supplies since we only have thirty days to order missing parts. Once this has been completed, we will start building the printer. We will also be working on installing the electronics for the ShapeOko desktop 3D printer. It is important to note that the B9Creator will not be printing this week since we are still waiting for the print software from the company. The printing we begin possible the next week depending on the progress of the kit build.
