Geia sas manges!

I'm on the moon again. As most of you probably know, I have three
major goals in my life right now (other than moving to Ellada one
day). First, finding a Markos Vamvakaris 78. Second, finding a
bouzouki from the 30's. And third/most importantly, finding a living
mangas. Well, I've got a job now and have my sights on a 30's
bouzouki. And I just found these on ebay!

and

I can't believe this! I just typed in Vamvakaris on ebay and was
thinking "bla, yeah ok, I won't find anything" and see what happens?
I love my man. He's bidding on the first one for me, since my ebay
account went to the teke and hasn't come back yet. (Can't log
in/haven't used it in years.). So can anyone send me the songs in
question (if you know what they are)? Just curious and would love to
hear them. Ok, enough from The Alaniara!

Later,
Tiffanitsa, wishing you all happiness

Tiffanitsa, both offers are a rare opportunity, all four songs are
classics. I am not a record collector but I can tell you, the songs
themselves are the least criterion for buying such a piece or not.
Both records seem to be of good condition, one is stated as superb.
Your biggest problem will be the price: few dollars as it now stands,
is very attractive but the real competition starts few hours prior to
deadline. It may reach thousands. Good luck, if you can afford it...

Oh believe me, songs were the least on my mind. I was just curious.
This is ridiculously rare, as you said. I've been looking for about
five years now and only found two others in that time. Both sold for
a few hundred. HOpefully, we'll get this one.

Wow! those were the craziest minutes of my life, from about 7 minutes
to go until the bidding ended. But we didn't win it. We lost by a
few cents. Part of me says "I knew we should've bid $400" but I don't
know what the highest bid of the winner was so... Ah well, still one
out there. But that ones in mint condition, so I'm sure it'll sell
for more than $400. I don't know which is harder. Finding a Markos
record or finding a mangas! Actually, I bet finding a Batis or a
Delias record is harder than both. Just gotta save up a few hundred
for next time.

Later,
Tiffanitsa

My computer and I are on a different douzeni today. I sent the
message, and it shows it when I hit reply but I'm not sure if this
went through because it's not showing your message. So here's what I
wrote.

Searching for "greek 78 rpm" on eBay.com pops up a few rebetika discs
that are not identified as such, some of which appear to someone
clearing out this collection:

http://78records.cdbpdx.com/Greek/

which includes, about half way down, a 1946 Vamvakaris (with others)
recording of Me Polemas Babesika/Varka Gialo on a US decca 78 (the
Greek release was on Odeon). Sides GO 3636 and GO 3637, record31154A/
B. Perhaps it's for sale?

Good luck, anyway...

Opa. Thanks. I usually get frustrated with titles that say something
like (lot of five Greek 78s) and have no description cause I never
know what's in them. Anyway, we'll look at these later today.
Thanks.

Think they appeared here before, can't remember how, someone else may
remember them (if I'm not confusing them with something else)
