PER-SESSION VACANCY

POSITION:
- Mathematics Teacher, Grade 8, Test Preparation Program

LOCATION:
- PS 96M, 216 East 120th Street, Manhattan
  (between 2nd-3rd Avenues; walking distance from Subways 4-5-6 and Buses M101, M103 and M15)

ELIGIBILITY:
- current NYS license to teach 7-12 mathematics
- current NYC middle school or high school mathematics teacher

SELECTION CRITERIA:
- recommendations from principal and from math coach
- commitment to integrating issues of economic and social justice
- insight regarding teaching the NYS math process standards, especially representation and communication
- successful experience facilitating hands-on math explorations at the eighth or ninth grade level
- successful experience facilitating generative math discussions at the eighth or ninth grade level

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- plan and facilitate two eighty-minute sections

- Note: This is not a remedial content class.
- co-supervise one twenty-minute period of indoor recess (open gym)

SALARY:
- as per Collective Bargaining Agreement ($39.98 per hour)

SCHEDULE:
9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
- Saturday, January 26
- Saturday, February 2
- Saturday February 9
- Saturday, February 16
- Tuesday, February 19
- Wednesday, February 20
- Thursday, February 21
- Saturday, March 1
(Must commit to all eight sessions.)
