9:30am and 11:00am Explorers United:

Music Sunday, celebrate the power of music in learning, worship, and daily life; play instruments, bang out rhythms, and learn Unitarian Universalist songs at Music Sunday. Led by Kathy and Keith Touminen-Lenny.

  

Next Sunday, September 14, 12:30- 2:00pm

Parents, teachers, and friends are invited to the fall RECY Welcome Orientation, followed by a mandatory Teacher Training. While adults are busy getting to know each other at the orientation there will be pizza, a movie, Cool Runnings, and childcare available for Explorers. Please sign up, so we can order enough food. RECY will celebrate the power of music in learning, worship, and daily life; play instruments, bang out rhythms, and learn Unitarian Universalist songs at Music Sunday. If you play an instrument that you would like to bring and share with Explorers, this is the time, bring it Sept. 7th. Youth Recognition, Next Sunday 8.31

Next Sunday, please join, Katelynn Riva and Kristin Potter-Ramirez to recognize the outstanding youth who facilitated their “Living in UUVille” curriculum, this summer.  The youth volunteers, prepared their lessons, arrived early on Sundays, taught their classes, and responded to needs and questions from classmates. Outstanding! Congratulations! The celebration will continue, upstairs, during an End of Summer Youth Party, which will take place in lieu of their RE class.

This Thursday, August 7th from 6-9pm, join RECY in the sanctuary to watch RV, a comedy with Robin Williams. Families and youth should bring picnic dinners, blankets, and pillows; popcorn and red vines will be provided. Youth coming without a parent will need a guardian to sign them in at the door. Youth under age 10 need to be accompanied by an adult. Enjoy the summer, with us, here at Tapestry. Sign up through email or on the Social Hall.

Pacific Symphony Orchestra Presents

Next Saturday, August 2nd at 5:30 join RECY and the Mission Viejo community at Oso park for a special summer performance by the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, sponsored by Target.  Musical Playground begins at 5:30 and a musical performance begins at 7pm. Bring blankets, jackets, picnics, and chairs for this fun free family event. Contact dre@tapestryuu.org, please RSVP.

  • RECY Field Trip: 9:45-11:15am, Jim Semelroth will lead Explorers to Laguna Niguel Regional Park to show them, firsthand, the baby blue bird nests and chicks he cares for and spoke about on July 6th. Please sign up to ensure car space and drivers. Sign up by email dre@tapestryuu.org

    • Dinner and a movie hosted by OCUUC youth at Orange Coast on Friday, July 11th at 7pm. Childcare will be provided. Please bring drinks and snacks to share.
