Whew, I think I've finally recovered from all of the excitement. We had 45 riders on 12 teams show up on a perfect Saturday morning. Our own Queen City Wheels Team #1 took home the bragging rights in the Overall and Mens categories led by Peter Wimberg with a time of 22:40. The Huntington Bank team came in a close second led by JR Anderson and his time of 22:59. Could we see a weekly showdown between these two every Tuesday evening in 2008?
The Mercey Healthplex / 7HR Mixed Team took home the handicap category as two of their members had personal records on the course. Gears 4 Beers brought their beer-powered tri-bikes to the party and captured the title for the mixed team category. The ever-vocal Bena brought her Pedal Power crew up from Lexington to take the women's category.
We also had strong showing from Zephyr Wheel Sports, the kids on Team Turner, as well as Team Hallmark Channel.
The results are on TrueSport.com including the split times courtesy of Jonathan Grinder and Time-7 Sport as they tested out a new timing system on this event. There are also photos courtesy of Jeffrey Jakuzyk at http://jjakucyk.exposuremanager.com/g/2007_road.
This event was so successful, we are already discussing having it as a yearly end of summer event.

I can't tell you how many times in the last 8 years I've been involved with the club that people have wistfully said we need to work to restore the TT to something resembling the glory days, when 50 people would show up.
Sorry I missed it - I was hammering cyclocross stakes in the ground.

Tonight is the 2008 Ault Park Series Championship! This is the 25th year of "racing in the park" and the rider turnout and racing has been outstanding!
Fyi - The weather appeared a little iffy earlier today but I've been doing my rain dance all day (seriously) and Mother Nature appears to now be on our side. Sunny skies are forecast just in time for tonight's start!
As it's the final week, I would like to ask each of you to please come out and support the race. Ault Park is a very family friendly event where the spectators are just as important as racers. We encourage everyone to bring a picnic!
