On June 9, David Littman, the World Union’s spokesman to UN bodies in Geneva, spoke at the 11th session of the UN Human Rights Council to protest slavery being practiced in Sudan, and particularly in the southern region of Darfur.

UKRAINIAN MOVEMENT HOSTS SHABBATON FOR CRIMEAN YOUTH
More than 30 young adults from Kharkov, Odessa and other towns on the Crimean Peninsula took part in a two-day shabbaton sponsored by Ner Tamid, the Progressive congregation in Simferopol, Ukraine, in conjunction with the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Crimea.
