Thank you very much for your phone call. I was waiting for any kind of
response for the last two months. I’m living in solitary confinement
after three attempts on my life. I again request you (Dawn Media
Group) to provide me and my family members protection, and help us in
registering criminal cases against my tormentors at Dawn Islamabad:
Zaffar Abbas, resident editor; Farman Ali, news editor; Adeel Raza,
edition in-charge Islamabad; Rehan Yousuf, edition in-charge Peshawar
desk; Anwar Mansuri (the father), assistant editor; Yasir Mansuri (the
son), sub-editor; Tariq Mehmood Hasaan, sub-editor; Zar Alam Khan, sub-
editor; Amir Wasim, staff reporter; Munawar Azeem, crime reporter;
Chaudhry Ishaque, photographer and others at the office.
Plus their partners in crimes: officials of the Karakoram
International University Gilgit including Dr. Najma Najam, vice-
chancellor; Dr. Ahsanullah Mir, registrar; Muhammad Hussain,
additional registrar; Manzoor Ali, assistant professor physics
department; Prof. Salma Durrani, chairperson environmental sciences;
Dr. Muhammad Ramzan, associate professor educational development;
Karim Khan, director campus administration; Ms. Tahira, warden girls
hostel.
And the office-bearers of NGOs: Gojal Educational and Cultural
Association (Dawn’s News Editor Farman Ali is its president); Uks
(owned by Resident Editor Zaffar Abbas’s spouse); some journalists in
Islamabad and Gilgit, and officials of secret agencies including the
ISI (people at office claim that Zaffar Abbas is patronizing its cell
and counterfeit website, The dawn dot com dot pk, along with Zaid
Hamid and Ahmed Quraishi).
These people are criminal minds who are using their authority against
national organizations and innocent people. To keep their jobs and get
promotions, they can do anything even against this country and
humanity. They’re intellectual terrorists. They must face the law.
This is crucial to protect Mr. Jinnah’s Dawn and his Pakistan .

Dear Sir,
As a former colleague, you know that I am working as a journalist for
over 15 years in the mainstream newspapers. Currently, I am affiliated
with the daily Dawn in Islamabad. I have been victimized for years for
being an upright journalist who always raised voice against
unscrupulous people who abused the platform of the media.
Here I want to inform you formally that my life is in danger. I have
requested the government to provide me and my family protection but
there is no response so far. My Editor is also silent.
I am not disappointed by President Zardari, Prime Minister Gilani and
Army Chief General Kayani. But my voice is not reaching them as my
tormentors are very powerful, having God-like image in the terrorized
society. They believe “we can make or break” a government in the
country.
You know it very well that respected journalists – especially during
election campaigns of the National Press Club Islamabad and Rawalpindi-
Islamabad Union of Journalists – are treated worse than animals on the
Dawn Islamabad premises. However, members of intelligence agencies are
being welcomed and used against a journalist like me. It is a shameful
thing in the history of journalism in Pakistan.
The editorial liberty is being misused at Dawn. Members of the
Islamabad editorial management are directly or indirectly running
their so-called NGOs, some are working for other national and
international organizations (plus sectarian and racial groups as some
colleagues say).
I, therefore, seek your help as the leading organization of working
journalists in the country to help me in getting protection. I also
seek an independent investigation into the criminal charges against
the editorial management of Dawn.

I have gone through your letter and allegations are simply unbelievable. I personally know every one you have mentioned in the letter they are so nice, humble and peace loving journalists, how they can be your enemy? and they can never think to harm any one what to talk about killing you?. I agree with other fellows and that's is try to resolve your issues internally. without any evidence its unfair to level allegation against such persons who have good repute in the society and in the media community. Make friends and not adversaries.

Some of them enjoy really a good repute in the community and no genuine journalist can even think such things about Zafar Abbas, Farman Ali, Amir Wasim and others. I agree with what people have been posting, how can you make such serious allegations (death threats, attempt on life) without even hinting at a motive?
Plus the people you speak off are known to be sterling individuals. I went over your blog but even that does not explain sufficiently the root of your grievance. it is irresponsible to cast aspersions on people in this manner.
