A very sad news. I'm shell shocked. He was a source of inspiration for young journalists and was widely respected in the community for his impeccable integrity and professional competence. May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace and give fortitude to his family to bear this irreparable loss.

Chacha Saadat Khiyali will never die, he will stay in each every sitting of Lahore Press Club where journalists would keep on reminding his gestures.

Chief Sahib!
I am saddened by his death. He was really a towering personality in Lahore. We used to enjoy his jokes, indepth information on issues and historical events and interesting discourse during press conferences at CM house.
May Allah Bless his soul.

Certainly, Sadaat Khiyali Sahab's journalistic credentials stand out many. He stood tall as a human being as well. Knowing him from certain personal quarters, I know that he was absolutely a down to earth fellow.
One thing is particularly known to many, especially mediamen, that he used to have toffees, almonds and other things of the type in his pocket, and would give to people whom he met. These edibles were actually used to be for kids roaming around in his street, adjoining the Temple Road.
Obviously, those kids would be missing him as well, besides people from his field, family and friends.

Coincidence  that  the  Founder  of  Daily  Kohistan   ,  died  on  March  2,  1996.   Sadat  Khayali  started  his  career  from  Kohistan.  When  he  sent  his  application  for  the  job  he  signed  as  'Captain  Saadat  Khayali''.  Mr.  Inayat  Ullah  interviewed  him.  He  was  too  young.  Mr  Inayatullha  asked  him  ''how  come  you  call  yourself  as  Captain   Sadat  Khayali?''.  The  reply  was  short  and  crisp   ''  Because  I  am  the  Captain  of  my  Mohalla  Cricket  Team''.  Late  Inyatullha   appointed  him   immediately  as  trainee  reporter.   Saadat  Khayali  also   died  on  March  2,  like  Late  Nasim  Hijazi.....Tariq  Khan.

My first reaction was! Oh Khiali sb passed away. Inna lillahe wa Inna elehe rajeoon. I remember his kind and ever smiling personality in Mashraq. When I need a certificate of acknowledgment for the admission in M.A Mass-Communication in Punjab University, he didn't hesitated to issue this certificate as he was, at that time, deputy coordinating editor.  May ALLAH shower His Rehmatain on his grave and make it a garden of Jannat. Saadat Khiyali Sahib was an excellent person. He was so pleasing and accommodative for the juniors and used to support them. When he was editor of Daily Mashriq Lahore I used to go to him for publication of articles and columns and he was always very nice in accommodating the same (as it had never been an easy task for the new comers to get space or so).

May Allah Almighty bless the departed soul.
